WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which will display a preview of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is even if those items are from another set of gear.
no title is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. They can choose to use Flightstones that are a common upgrade currency available to everyone, or crests, which are more specific and consumed during upgrades on specific levels of the item. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another important change is that crests only have one usage therefore it's essential to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
